The Season of Thanks and Giving

|

Each year, as Thanksgiving rolls around, and I become more excited for the holiday season, I take a look around, and my heart is filled with thanks and gratitude — gratitude for my family who has supported me through thick and thin; thankfulness that we all have our health; and appreciation for my loved ones who put a smile on my face and serve as constant reminders that there is still good in the world.

This past year has certainly been filled with many ups and downs as we seek to achieve normalcy following the pandemic. It’s been a difficult year, but by and large, I believe we all have much to give thanks for. Sometimes, we take many of life’s “little things” for granted. However, the holidays offer a great opportunity to pause and reflect on our many blessings.

I’m grateful for food and water on my table, a comfortable bed to sleep in, the ability to go to work, my vehicle, random smiles from strangers, the acts of kindness from others, and even the opportunity to sit and relax. These little things make the most significant difference in our lives, so it’s important to reflect and give thanks for them!

I’m grateful to live in the United States of America — the best country in the world — and as we celebrate Veterans Day this month, I’m appreciative of the heroism shown by the men and women of the United States Armed Forces. Because of their valor, bravery, and dedication to our country, we live in a nation where we have the opportunity to feel safe. I’m very thankful that our veterans sacrificed so much for our freedoms.

I’m thankful for all of you — our amazing customers here at Quality Plus Automotive. Thank you for placing your trust in us and for your steadfast loyalty. You allow us to do what we love every day while delivering top-notch service.

This Thanksgiving, I will be counting all of my blessings twice, taking extra time with my family, soaking up the delicious smells pouring out of the kitchen as Thanksgiving dinner cooks, enjoying some downtime, and watching some football. After all, it’s the most wonderful time of the year!

We host the holiday at my house every year, where all my children and grandchildren gather. We have a very Southern-style, home-cooked meal with turkey, ham, gravy, green beans, rolls, mashed potatoes, pecan pie, sweet tea, and much, much more. The feast lasts for days, and leftovers taste just as good as that first bite on Thanksgiving Day!

This Thanksgiving, I wish each and every one of you a happy and healthy Thanksgiving! Enjoy the holiday!
